Summary

Performs the preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvements of Automated Guided Vehicles (AVG) and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) systems. Ensuring optimal performance, safety, and efficiency of these robotic systems, supporting our continuous drive for automation and innovation in our shipping processes.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on AVG and AMR systems to ensure minimal downtime and peak performance.
  • System Calibration & Updates: Calibrate robotic systems and ensure software and hardware are up-to-date to meet the evolving needs of the production process.
  • Programming & Configuration: Configure and reprogram robots for new tasks, routes, and processes, working closely with the engineering team to integrate these changes seamlessly into existing systems.
  • Data Monitoring & Analysis: Continuously monitor system performance, collect data, and perform diagnostics to identify areas for improvement, report on system performance, and ensure KPIs are met.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations related to the operation of automated systems. Perform regular safety audits and implement as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with production teams, engineers, and maintenance staff to ensure smooth integration of AVGs and AMRs into daily operations.
  • Troubleshoot and Repair: Address hardware, software, and sensor issues in AVGs and AMRs quickly and efficiently to minimize disruption in manufacturing processes.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, configurations, and performance data for both AVG and AMR systems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, proposing and implementing solutions for system optimization and production enhancement.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or greater than two-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred candidate would have Experience with programming and troubleshooting robotic systems (e.g., PLCs, sensors, controllers).

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts, especially within a budget report. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

Must have a deep understanding of automation systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems. It involves the ability to program, troubleshoot and maintain these systems to ensure seamless operation. Must be able to navigate the Microsoft Operating System well. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the use of functions and charts.
