Job summary

Ring Container Technologies is seeking an Automation Technician to maintain and improve automation systems across manufacturing lines. You will design, program, troubleshoot, and upgrade control systems, PLCs, HMIs, and robotics, ensuring reliable production and safety.

The role requires an associate degree or 3 years experience, knowledge of PLCs, robotics, vision cameras or RFID scanners, and strong problem‑solving skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in technology or related field preferred, or 3 years related experience.
• Preferred knowledge of PLCs, robotics, servos/VFDs, vision cameras and RFID scanners.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read schematics and use precision measuring equipment.
• Interpersonal skills to train team members and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on automation systems.
• Design, program, troubleshoot, and improve automated machinery or computer systems.
• Repair electrical parts such as switches, motors, relays, or sensors.
• Create drawings of wiring or PLC structures per engineer requirements.
• Test and install industrial controls, including robotics and automated lines.
• Lead root cause analyses to eliminate downtime and process variation.
• May travel to other locations and train production staff.
