Job summary

Ring Container Technologies in Hanover, PA is seeking an Automation Technician to perform preventive and predictive maintenance on automation systems. You will design, program, troubleshoot, and improve automated machinery and computer systems to ensure uptime and efficiency.

The role requires collaboration with engineers, drawing wiring/PLC/HMI schematics, installing controls, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Travel may be required to other locations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 3+ years related automation experience.
• Preferred knowledge of PLCs, robotics, servos, VFDs, vision cameras and RFID scanners.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization and problem solving.
• Intermediate math skills and schematics reading ability.
• Ability to train production employees.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on all automation systems.
• Design, program, troubleshoot, and improve automated machinery or computer systems.
• Repair electrical components such as switches, motors, relays or sensors.
• Create new automation technologies for manufacturing processes.
• Draw detailed machinery wiring or PLC/HMI schematics.
• Test and install industrial controls including robots or automated lines.
• Evaluate, maintain, troubleshoot and improve industrial networks.
• Lead root cause analysis to reduce downtime; travel to other locations as needed.
