Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a System Engineer to support the day-to-day reliability and uptime of its automated warehouse systems in a live production environment. The role is hands-on, focused on troubleshooting, maintenance, and system health rather than commissioning or programming.

You will diagnose and resolve issues across PLCs, drives, motors and sensors, document activities in CMMS systems, and collaborate with on-site teams to ensure safe, continuous operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or hands-on experience.
• Minimum 1 year working with PLCs (Allen-Bradley) for diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Experience with VFDs, AC/DC motors, and automated conveyor/AS/RS equipment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain health of conveyors, lifts, motors, sensors, and PLC equipment.
• Diagnose failures across PLCs, drives, motors and control hardware to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automated equipment.
• Utilize data, alarms, logs and dashboards to identify fault conditions.
• Document repairs in CMMS (Maximo) and coordinate with on-site teams.
• Serve as senior technical escalation during disruptions and downtime events.
