Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a System Engineer to support the reliability, availability, and performance of its automated warehouse systems in a live production environment. This hands-on role is aligned with maintenance and on-site operations.

You'll troubleshoot electro-mechanical and automation systems, use CMMS for repairs, and collaborate with maintenance teams to restore system uptime while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience in a related field.
• 1+ year of hands-on experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley) and diagnostics.
• Experience with VFDs, motors, and automation equipment.
• Experience using SQL, Python, and Linux for diagnostics and system interaction.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the health of conveyors, lifts, robotic vehicles, motors, sensors and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Perform electrical, mechanical, and automation troubleshooting to resolve production-impacting issues.
• Diagnose failures across PLCs, VFDs, motors, sensors and control hardware.
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities on automated equipment.
• Document maintenance activities and findings using CMMS (e.g., Maximo) and internal tools.
• Provide technical guidance and on-the-job support to maintenance technicians and operators.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, LOTO, electrical safety, and Symbotic safety standards.
