Job summary

Symbotic LLC in North Carolina seeks a System Engineer to support reliability, availability, and performance of automated warehouse systems in a live production environment. This hands-on role focuses on system health, diagnostics, and on-site technical execution.

The successful candidate will troubleshoot PLC-based equipment, motors, sensors, and control hardware, perform preventive maintenance, and collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure uptime and safety on the floor.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
Minimum of 1 year hands‑on experience with PLCs (preferably Allen‑Bradley).
Minimum of 1 year experience with VFDs and motors.
Hands‑on experience with automated systems such as conveyors, lifts, and robotics.
Experience with SQL, Python, and Linux for diagnostics.

Responsibilities

Monitor and maintain health of automated systems (conveyors, lifts, robotics, motors, sensors).
Perform advanced electrical, mechanical, and automation troubleshooting.
Diagnose failures across PLCs and control hardware.
Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Use CMMS/Maximo to document activities and findings.
Escalate as senior technical point during disruptions.
Collaborate with on‑site maintenance and operations teams.
Provide guidance to technicians and operators.
