Job summary

NCC Automated Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer to design and integrate automated material handling and packaging systems from concept through execution. You will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, reliable, and maintainable systems for customers.

The role emphasizes end-to-end systems thinking, process analysis, and collaboration with vendors and internal groups to meet performance, sanitation, and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Experience in automation, conveyor systems, or packaging equipment is preferred.
• Ability to interpret process flow diagrams, technical drawings and vendor docs.
• Understanding of sensors, motors, electrical interfaces, and utility needs.
• Strong communication and project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the complete customer process, including upstream and downstream operations, not just NCC scope.
• Develop and refine process flow diagrams and sequences of operation.
• Evaluate equipment, rate, spacing, transfers, and sanitation requirements for reliability.
• Design system layouts using AutoCAD and determine placements and clearances.
• Coordinate with Electrical Engineering on I/O, tagging, and utility connections.
