Job summary

ResMed seeks an experienced Automation Specialist to support and enhance warehouse automation at our fulfillment center. You will ensure commissioning, validation, reliability, and continuous improvement of conveyor and automation systems while coordinating with Operations, IT, Facilities, Safety, and vendors.

You will troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize automation equipment, interfaces with WMS/PLC controls, and lead data-driven improvements for safe, efficient distribution center performance.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or similar experience in automation, electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse automation and material handling systems.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of PLC-controlled systems, sensors, pneumatics, electricals, servo drives, and VFDs.
• Familiar with industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus).
• Experience with CMMS and WCS in a fulfillment or distribution center.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, CAD layouts, and mechanical drawings.
• Analytical problem solving and ability to optimize complex systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with technicians, ops, IT, vendors.

Responsibilities

• Serve as site expert for automation systems essential to fulfillment operations.
• Support commissioning, testing, and optimization of new equipment and expansions.
• Diagnose and resolve issues in industrial networks and controls.
• Maintain and optimize motor-driven components, sensors, and printers.
• Collaborate with WMS providers and IT to implement performance improvements.
• Use WMS tools to monitor flow, clear jams, and adjust routing logic.
• Monitor MHE performance metrics and downtime, drive RCA and fixes.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs and ensure safety policies.
