Job summary

Opportunity Group, Inc. seeks an Applications Engineer to support sales through strong customer relationships and competitive automation solutions.

You will help with mechanical conception of automated equipment, cost calculations, quoting, and drafting proposals for diverse projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, review RFQs, prepare quotes and cost sheets, and ensure proposals meet client needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Experience in industrial automation preferred.
• Experience in machine design or building; SolidWorks or similar software preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and control systems in automation.
• Prior experience in preparing quotes and RFQs.
• Valid driver’s license and authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Business Development to understand customer needs.
• Review RFQs and develop value-added solutions with the team.
• Assist with mechanical conception of automated equipment and cells.
• Calculate system costs and draft detailed proposals.
• Develop proposals and presentations; create project scopes.
• Confirm project schedules and quotes.
• Prepare machine quotes, cycle time analysis, and layouts in SolidWorks/AutoCAD.
• Estimate labor hours and hard costs for automation equipment.
• Interface with clients to ensure needs are met.
• Attend internal kick-off meetings and calibrate cost models.
• Maintain knowledge of designs, manufacturing processes, and automation equipment.
• Continuously improve work processes and personal performance.
