Job summary

Port City Bakery, Inc. is seeking an experienced Engineer to oversee engineering, maintenance, and technical services across six facilities. You will drive automation projects, ensure SQF and USDA compliance, and collaborate with production and leadership to improve reliability and efficiency.

The role requires strong mechanical design and project management skills, with experience in AutoCAD, Inventor, and PLC systems. Travel up to 20% is expected.

Qualifications

• 5 years in food manufacturing within SQF and USDA facilities.
• Strong mechanical design and process engineering in food production.
• Ability to design and implement automation systems.
• Research and present relative solutions.
• Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with 2D AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
• Knowledgeable in Manufacturing Engineering methodologies.
• Working knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• Strong PM skills and ability to manage cross-functional teams.
• Interest in learning new technologies and skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering, maintenance, and technical services across multi-site operations.
• Design, procure, and implement technologies to improve production processes.
• Collaborate with production, safety, quality, and continuous improvement teams.
• Manage annual budgets and capital projects exceeding $7 million.
• Ensure SQF, USDA, and BISSC compliance in design and operations.
• Oversee plant layout, process flow, and machinery commissioning.
• Travel up to 20% for vendor visits and project support.
