Job summary

Tenneco is seeking an Automation Engineer to lead automated manufacturing projects for new equipment and upgrades in our Wisconsin facility. You will guide cross-functional teams through conception, installation, and buy-off, while improving productivity and reducing scrap.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Automation/Engineering and at least three years of leadership in automated projects, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Automation/Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum three years leading automated manufacturing projects.
  • Strong communication, problem solving, and computer skills.
  • Machine shop and equipment maintenance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop scope of work for new equipment and upgrading existing equipment
  • Adhere to quality, environmental, health and safety policies related to production equipment
  • Create machine manuals, operator work instructions, and troubleshooting guides
  • Analyze and plan workforce utilization, and layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
  • Lead cross-functional teams to research and deploy new automated manufacturing technologies to reduce scrap, improve productivity, and address customer concerns
  • Develop business case proposals for new equipment projects, including ROI and timelines
