Job summary
Actalent in Jefferson City, MO, is seeking a Controls Engineer / Automation Project Engineer to lead startup, commissioning, and upgrades on advanced packaging, robotics, and smart manufacturing systems.
Candidates should have 5+ years in industrial controls, strong Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLC experience, and a track record in project execution. Per diem may be available; position is fully onsite with significant capital investment in automation.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of industrial controls or automation engineering experience
- Strong Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLC programming experience
- Experience developing and modifying PLC programs from scratch
- Robotics experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong troubleshooting and commissioning expereince
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Experience supporting automation and capital projects
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Responsibilities
- Program, modify, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLC systems
- Support robotics integration and automation initiatives
- Lead equipment startup, commissioning, and project execution activities
- Drive controls upgrades and continuous improvement projects
- Troubleshoot complex automation and electrical control systems
- Partner with operations, maintenance, OEMs, and engineering teams
- Support advanced packaging, smart manufacturing, and modernization efforts
