Job summary

Niterra North America, Inc. seeks a Process Engineer to advance manufacturing capabilities by designing, testing, and optimizing automated PLC/HMI systems. You will lead automation projects and Kaizen initiatives, integrating sensors and vision systems to boost equipment efficiency and meet KPI targets.

This hybrid role requires strong troubleshooting, project management, and collaboration with maintenance and engineering teams, using AutoCAD and 3D printing for prototyping and improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience considered.
• 5+ years in a related engineering role with PLC/HMI familiarity.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and control diagrams.
• Experience with sensors, vision systems, SPC and data analysis.
• Proven ability to manage multiple automation projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and debug PLC and HMI logic for machine ops.
• Diagnose issues in PLC-controlled equipment and implement fixes.
• Integrate sensors and vision systems into existing automation.
• Provide advanced maintenance support and technical guidance.
• Lead cross-functional automation projects and Kaizen initiatives.
• Document repairs, modifications, and project outcomes.
• Train staff on PLC/AutoCAD/3D printing as needed.
