Job summary

FIBA Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Process Engineer – Manufacturing Automation to develop, maintain, and improve automated manufacturing systems.

You will work with production, maintenance, engineering, and vendors to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. The role requires deep understanding of controls, sensors, electrical, mechanical, and process interfaces, with responsibility for new process design and improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; substantial practical experience may substitute.
• 5+ years hands-on experience with industrial automation and process control systems.
• Experience managing automation vendors and commissioning equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, P&IDs and control logic.
• Experience with PLC-based automation and industrial controls.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve automation systems in manufacturing operations.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose automation problems; implement permanent corrective actions.
• Understand existing equipment and its interfaces (controls, sensors, electrical, mechanical, process).
• Serve as technical resource for automation system performance and reliability.
• Coordinate and manage outside automation vendors and contractors.
• Develop scopes of work and technical requirements for automation projects.
• Review vendor proposals and equipment specs to meet requirements.
• Maintain documentation for automated systems (drawings, programs, specs).
• Identify recurring problems and engineer solutions to boost reliability and reduce downtime.
• Work with operators and maintenance to improve usability and maintainability.
• Support commissioning, testing, startup, and troubleshooting of new/modified equipment.
• Design automation systems for new equipment or processes when needed.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual tasks to improve safety and productivity.
