Job summary

Mergon is recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer for the day shift to support a highly automated blow molding facility. You will focus on improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and optimizing automation systems, with hands-on responsibilities and a proactive problem-solving approach.

The role requires learning ABB robots and Omron PLCs, collaborating with Production and Maintenance, and driving process improvements to increase reliability and reduce downtime.

Qualifications

• Hands-on role requiring versatility and quick learning.
• Strong technical aptitude and passion for learning new systems.
• Overtime and weekend work required periodically.
• Experience in blow molding or automated manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand operation of ABB robots, Omron PLCs, and automation systems.
• Troubleshoot issues affecting OEE with Production and Maintenance.
• Improve performance and reliability of automation equipment.
• Assist commissioning, installation, tuning of automation systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements.
• Improve machine reliability and reduce downtime.
• Provide training and support to team members.
• Keep up-to-date with robotics, PLCs, and automation tech.
• Available for overtime and weekend shifts as needed.
