Job summary

HellermannTyton in Milwaukee is seeking an Automation Operator to maintain and monitor automated systems and packaging cells, respond to alarms, and ensure smooth, efficient production operations.

Under the direction of the Lead Manufacturing Supervisor, you will perform basic troubleshooting, manage packaging supplies, verify labels and date codes during changeovers, and document quality and process issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• 1+ years of machine operation or manufacturing experience.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools.
• Familiarity with computers and ability to perform basic data entry.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work overtime on a daily and/or rotating weekend basis.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs daily.
• Ability to stand and walk for 8 hours or more daily.

Responsibilities

• Respond to automated system alarms to correct material flow issues and clear jams.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of automated packaging cells and escalate as needed.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of packaging supplies and coordinate with Shipping and Receiving.
• Monitor and replace seal elements and maintain label printers as needed.
• Change and verify labels and date codes during production changeovers.
• Communicate quality and process issues to relevant parties.
• Maintain clean and organized automation areas daily.
• Adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
• Assist with Packaging Operator duties as needed.
• Enter downtime and scrap codes into the Process Monitoring System.
