Job summary

Applied Controls, Inc. is seeking an Automation Outside Sales Account Manager to grow business across Scranton, Williamsport, and Harrisburg, PA. You will partner with OEMs and manufacturers to deliver automation solutions that boost productivity, reliability, and safety.

This field-based role requires strong relationships, opportunity identification, and collaboration with technical specialists to close deals. A vehicle allowance is provided and travel is extensive.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
• Three or more years of outside sales experience in industrial automation or related fields.
• Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Grow sales and profitability within the assigned territory by expanding existing accounts.
• Build strong customer relationships and act as trusted advisor with automation products and services.
• Achieve or exceed sales and gross profit objectives through consultative selling.
• Conduct regular account reviews and identify opportunities to expand product offerings.
• Collaborate with Product Specialists, Inside Sales, and suppliers to close deals.
• Promote engineering services, systems integration, and training events.
• Develop and execute territory sales plans and monitor market trends.
• Travel throughout the territory for customer visits and relationship building.
• Maintain accurate customer activity, pipeline, and forecasting in CRM.
