Job summary

FM is seeking an Automation, Operational Technology & Digital Systems Engineer to support operation, development, and reliability of industrial control systems across the FM Research Campus.

This position reports to the manager responsible for the Research Campus Data Operations Group and collaborates with researchers, engineers, supervisors, and technicians to support daily site operations, operational readiness, and digital capabilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience with industrial control systems; 5–10+ years preferred.
• Experience programming PLCs and HMI/SCADA systems, and OT/IT integration.
• Strong communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Research Campus ICS daily operation for FM Approvals and campus teams.
• Maintain and develop control systems; select components; document systems; program PLCs and HMI/SCADA; manage alarms; archive PI data; Ignition transformations; commission control systems; tune PID loops.
• Serve as first-level escalation for control-system technicians to restore operational readiness.
• Assist with OT infrastructure design, and IT/OT integration using industrial protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
• Own Digital Twin applications and data streams.
• Lead project work with limited supervision across relevant disciplines.
