Job summary

Air Products is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer of Automation to support critical technology systems on the production floor. You will troubleshoot IT and OT issues, collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and Cybersecurity to keep plant operations reliable.

The role requires strong problem solving, effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, or related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting IT infrastructure, OT systems, manufacturing technology, or industrial systems.
• Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, chemical, production, plant, or operations environment.
• Proven experience providing hands‑on technical support in environments where system downtime directly impacts production.
• Experience supporting industrial or enterprise software platforms used in manufacturing operations.
• Ability to work in manufacturing facilities, production areas, and plant‑floor environments while adhering to site safety requirements.
• Willingness to provide off‑hours support for critical outages, upgrades, deployments, or production‑impacting incidents as needed.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize work based on safety, production impact, and business urgency.
• Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and commitment to delivering reliable technology support.

Responsibilities

• Support IT and OT systems on the production floor and in manufacturing environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production-impacting issues across applications, services, servers, and networks.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Cybersecurity, IT, and vendors to ensure reliable plant operations.
• Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for IT/OT environments and ensure high availability of critical systems.
