Lenze is seeking an Applications Engineer to deliver motion control and automation expertise in a remote-capable role serving the Nashville, TN area and Atlanta, GA region. You will design and implement motion architecture, configure drives, and support customers through commissioning and optimization while collaborating with Sales to craft differentiated solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechatronics, robotics, or mechanical engineering.
Proficient in IEC 61131-3 programming languages.
Experience with motion control systems, PLCs, HMI programming and industrial communication protocols.
Strong mechatronics background integrating mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

Develop system and application solutions, including motion architecture and software design.
Create customer-specific application software and support full lifecycle from prototype to commissioning.
Configure and commission drives and develop PLC/HMI programs.
Support testing, start-up, and field validation of automation solutions.
Capture and standardize application knowledge into reusable tools and best practices.
Partner with Sales to develop solution concepts for customer requirements.
Provide technical support during pre-sales activities and customer meetings.
