Job summary
Lenze is seeking an Application Engineer to design and support motion control and automation solutions for customers in the Detroit area. You’ll develop system and application software from prototype through commissioning while collaborating with Sales to tailor differentiated motion solutions.
Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and experience with IEC 61131-3, motion control, PLCs and HMI. Travel up to 25% is expected with remote work options within the Detroit metro.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficient in IEC 61131-3 programming languages (Ladder, Structured Text, Function Block Diagram).
- Experience with motion control systems, PLCs, HMI programming and industrial communication protocols.
Responsibilities
- Develop system and application solutions for motion architecture and software design.
- Create customer-specific application software through prototype to commissioning.
- Configure and commission drives and develop PLC/HMI programs.
