Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Automation Materials Industrial Engineer to lead material flow simulations and validate strategies across facilities. The role emphasizes simulation tools, data analysis, and industrial engineering principles to boost manufacturing efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in material simulation, time studies, capacity analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to drive continuous improvement aligned with Lean and Industry 4.0 practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (Masters preferred).
• 3-7 years of experience in industrial engineering or material simulation in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, PFEP, and material flow optimization.
• Proven ability to analyze data, develop insights, and present recommendations to leadership.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead material flow simulations to evaluate line-side delivery, warehouse logistics, and automated material handling solutions.
• Develop and validate discrete-event simulation models to optimize labor, equipment, and space utilization.
• Partner with operations and engineering teams to ensure scalability and sustainability of material flow strategies.
• Conduct time studies, capacity analysis, and ergonomic assessments to identify improvement opportunities.
• Create and maintain standard processes, metrics, and best practices for deployment across multiple facilities.
• Provide technical guidance on the integration of automation (AGVs/AMRs, conveyors, robotics) into plant operations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with lean manufacturing and Industry 4.0 practices.
