Job summary

Symbotic in Manchester, PA seeks an Automation Maintenance Technician at all levels to repair and calibrate our automated and robotic systems, including adapters, lifts, and robotic vehicles.

You will perform inspections, troubleshoot electro‑mechanical subsystems, document actions in CMMS, and ensure safe, high‑throughput operation.

This role requires adapting to a dynamic environment and complying with 5S and safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree and/or certification in electronics, automotive, automation, manufacturing, or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with mechanical automation systems or equivalent education/training.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills and ability to follow electro‑mechanical diagrams.
  • Ability to operate and run automated systems.
  • Experience with PLC knowledge and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in performing all inspection functions.
  • Ability to work independently of a supervisor following procedures and manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections on systems associated with the Automated Storage and Retrieval System and Automated Adapters/Lifts.
  • Lead continuous operation by adjusting, calibrating, repairing, replacing, or modifying system components.
  • Process and monitor the flow of the automated storage and retrieval system to achieve maximum throughput and cases per hour.
  • Troubleshoot automated robotic vehicle anomalies and stoppages using diagrams and test equipment.
  • Document all actions and repairs in CMMS with parts used and labor.
  • Communicate production impacting problems and required actions to the team.
  • Adapt to changing business needs in a dynamic environment.
  • Clean up equipment and remove replaced parts after repairs.
  • Recover automated robotic vehicles in the Symbotic Matrix system.
  • Perform minor utility work and set up tools on robotic arms.
  • Adhere to 5S policies and perform Cell Operator duties as needed.
