Job summary

MIRATECH in Houston, TX, seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to maintain high online availability of automated equipment used to assemble catalytic converters and apply catalytic coatings. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic subsystems, and support operators and engineers in continuous improvement projects.

Responsibilities include hands-on repairs, wiring and motor drives, and collaboration with service contractors, with safety and teamwork at the forefront.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Formal training in mechanical systems, electronic systems and controls, PLC programming/troubleshooting, electric power and electrical motors.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on mechanical troubleshooting and service of automated production equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, pistons, bearings, gear reducers, and pumps.
• Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach servo motors and connect couplings to precise tolerances; mechanical overhaul and adjustment of machinery; support operators for adjustments, setups, and changeovers.
• Provide electrical troubleshooting and service of AC & DC motors, variable speed drives, electrical panels and wiring.
• Provide electronic troubleshooting and service of actuators and sensors.
• Provide facility repairs such as plumbing, carpentry, light electrical repairs, machine PMs, lubrication of production equipment.
• Equipment repairs on welding machines, forklifts, shears and plate rollers.
• Review maintenance work orders and complete maintenance/repair records promptly.
• Guide and work with service contractors while transitioning repair and preventive maintenance in-house.
• Manage spare parts and preventive maintenance programs.
• Participate in new manufacturing equipment projects from concept to commissioning.
• Suggest operational/design changes based on performance and quality control to maintain efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering to resolve issues and train technicians as staff grows.
