Job summary

MIRATECH in Houston, TX is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep automated production equipment up and running. You will service mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems across multiple machines used in coating substrates for catalytic converters.

The role requires experience with PLC/HMI, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics, with a focus on safety and teamwork in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; formal training in mechanical/electronic systems and controls and PLC troubleshooting.
• Experience in manufacturing environment with automated production equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on mechanical troubleshooting and service of automated production equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, pistons, bearings, gear reducers, and pumps.
• Align gears and bearings, fit bearings, attach servo motors with precise tolerances; assist in day-to-day support of operators for adjustments, setups and changeovers.
• Troubleshoot AC/DC motors, variable speed drives, electrical panels and wiring.
• Troubleshoot actuators and sensors.
• Perform facility repairs such as plumbing, carpentry, light electrical repairs, PMs, and lubrication of production equipment.
• Repair welding machines, forklifts, shears and plate rollers.
• Review maintenance work orders and complete records in a timely manner.
• Guide and work with service contractors while transitioning repair to in-house.
• Manage spare parts and preventive maintenance programs.
• Participate in new manufacturing equipment projects from concept to testing and commissioning.
• Suggest design/operational changes based on performance and QC limits to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering to resolve issues.
• Observe and train maintenance technicians as staff grows.
• Chiller systems; catalyst washing equipment; process pumps, valves and hoses; air compressor/dryer systems (secondary).
• Pumps (optional); Blowers (optional); 3 phase motors, low voltage up to 3-phase 480V (optional).
