Caterpillar Inc. in Lafayette, IN is seeking a Utilities Electrician for the 2nd shift to troubleshoot and repair PLC- and relay-controlled equipment in a large industrial assembly environment.

This role requires wiring, drive systems, and substation tasks, with a focus on safety and quality. The position offers a 2:30pm-10:30pm shift, a sign-on bonus up to $5,000, relocation assistance up to $15,000, comprehensive benefits, time off, and overtime opportunities in a climate-controlled

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical repair of machines and related equipment, including boilers, cranes/hoists, conveyors, furnaces, washers, ABB robots and substations.
• Experience with troubleshooting and repairing PLC controlled conveyors and machines.
• Experience with AC/DC analog and digital drives.
• Experience with Low, Medium and High Voltage switchgear.
• Ability to demonstrate intermediate or higher proficiency in reading electrical prints/schematics.
• Basic mechanical skills and ability to operate basic tools.
• Self-starter and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Repair and service equipment such as P&H cranes and hoists, conveyors, furnaces, large part washers, ABB robots and other equipment in a large industrial Assembly environment.
• Repair PLC equipment with Siemens, Allen Bradley and other controllers on the machines in Assembly.
• Work with AC/DC analog and digital drives and substations.
• Perform Substation Testing, Cleaning, and preventive maintenance.
• Operate basic tools and assist production as needed.
