Job summary

Trafigura Group in Houston seeks an senior Automation Lead for our Trade Finance team. You will accelerate AI, automation, and modern tooling while ensuring credibility in desk workflows and deliverable automation initiatives.

You will translate business friction into prioritized automation, build business cases, and partner with IT to move initiatives from concept to production. Strong domain knowledge and change-agent mindset required.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience combining Trade Finance or commodity finance operations with technology-driven transformation.
Automation or AI projects led with measurable outcomes.
Background in technology-driven business transformation (BA, PM, super user, or product/scrum lead).
Experience with SQL; proficiency in Python or a low-code/no-code platform.
Familiarity with AI tooling, LLM APIs, RAG pipelines.
Ability to specify integrations between trade systems.
Understanding of Trade Finance instruments and workflows.

Responsibilities

Own and maintain the Trade Finance technology and automation roadmap.
Build robust business cases and align with IT architecture.
Partner with IT delivery teams to progress initiatives from concept to production.
Coach Trade Finance colleagues in modern, tool-driven ways.
Represent Trade Finance in cross-functional technology forums.
