Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England is seeking a Lab Supervisor to lead the Automated Lab, driving accurate testing and exceptional service. You will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure compliance, and coach staff to maintain high performance.

Responsibilities include implementing QC/QA programs, staffing, training, and performance management, while collaborating with IT and clinical teams on LIS enhancements. Emphasis on safety, accountability, and fiscal stewardship.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience in Clinical Laboratory Science.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day technical and operational functions of the laboratory, ensuring consistent workflow, timely specimen processing, and adherence to established protocols.
• Monitor workload distribution and adjust staffing or processes to maintain service continuity.
• Plan, implement, and monitor comprehensive quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) programs.
• Recruit, interview, and onboard laboratory staff. Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
• Address performance issues through coaching and corrective action.
• Ensure staff competency through regular assessments and documentation in accordance with departmental and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including proper handling of hazardous materials and use of PPE.
• Foster a collaborative, respectful, and customer-focused work environment that encourages professional growth and high performance.
• Manage laboratory resources effectively, including personnel, instrumentation, and supplies. Monitor inventory levels, forecast future needs, and submit procurement requests with appropriate justification.
• Develop, review, and update laboratory policies and SOPs to reflect current best practices, regulatory changes, and operational needs.
• Collaborate with IT and clinical teams to implement and maintain LIS functionality and staff training to ensure accurate data capture and reporting.
• Act as a liaison between the laboratory and other departments, including nursing, medical staff, and administration.

Clinical Laboratory Science experience

Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physical, Chemical, or Biological Science

ASCP certification
