Job summary

The Business Process Automation Intern will support initiatives to improve operational efficiency across the organization through automation, artificial intelligence, and process improvement.

The primary project will focus on automating the Accounts Payable invoice verification process by comparing supplier invoices to purchase orders and received quantities. The intern may also assist with additional AI-driven workflow projects in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Interest in automation, AI, manufacturing, or business process improvement.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Excel; familiarity with SQL, Python, Power BI, Microsoft Power Automate, or similar tools is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Document current Accounts Payable workflow with cross-functional teams.
• Analyze invoice, PO, and receiving processes to identify automation opportunities.
• Develop or evaluate tools that compare supplier invoices to POs and receipts.
• Collaborate with finance to understand project scope, workflow, and business requirements.
• Research and prototype AI solutions to improve documentation and reporting.
• Support data collection, validation, testing, and user acceptance.
• Document workflows, process maps, and project results.
• Present findings and recommendations to leadership.
