Job summary

The Business Process Automation Intern at Cactus Wellhead in Houston, TX will support automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency through automation, AI, and process improvement. The primary project automates the Accounts Payable invoice verification by comparing supplier invoices to purchase orders and received quantities.

The intern may assist with additional AI-driven workflow projects, document workflows, and internal process improvements within a manufacturing environment,

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Interest in automation, AI, manufacturing, or business process improvement.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Excel; familiarity with SQL, Python, Power BI, Microsoft Power Automate, or similar tools is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Work with various teams to document the current Accounts Payable workflow.
• Analyze the invoice, purchase order, and receiving processes to identify automation opportunities.
• Assist in developing or evaluating tools that compare supplier invoices against purchase orders and received quantities.
• Collaborate with finance team, to understand project scope, workflow, and business requirements.
• Research and prototype AI solutions that improve documentation, reporting, and internal business processes.
• Support data collection, validation, testing, and user acceptance activities.
• Document workflows, process maps, technical recommendations, and project results.
• Present findings and recommendations to leadership.
