Job summary

Haumiller Engineering seeks an experienced Manufacturing Test Technician / Service Technician to install, test, diagnose, and service custom automation machinery at customer sites and in-house labs. You will help with field testing, customer demonstrations, and technician education, with travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.

Based in South Elgin, IL, you may also support the Belvidere, IL facility.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a service technician with lead machine builder experience.
• Associate’s degree or certificate from college or technical school or equivalent experience.
• PLC, Electrical fundamentals; ability to read ladder logic and basic editing skills.
• Ability to read detailed 3D drawings, electrical and pneumatic schematics.
• Basic use of machine shop equipment (drill press, grinder, mill and lathe).
• Experience using basic hand tools and measurement equipment (calipers, micrometer, scales and gauges).

Responsibilities

• Perform machinery installations, service, and warranty claims through direct customer and representative contact.
• Provide technical support to engineering and manufacturing for machinery upgrades and configurations including written documentation of field corrections and problems.
• Perform testing of product samples to determine equipment compatibility and configuration.
• Perform final quality and performance testing of machinery.
• Involvement in customer contact and assistance during machinery acceptance visits.
• Conduct a series of electrical and mechanical checks, analyze part control and machine functions per specifications.
• Flexibility to work at South Elgin, IL or Belvidere, IL locations.
