Job summary

Joseph Michaels International is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair custom-built testing and industrial equipment at customer sites in Addison, IL. You will also train customer personnel and drive service programs while nurturing strong client relationships.

The role requires 2+ years in maintenance or field service, knowledge of hydraulics/pneumatics, and the ability to read schematics with diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on maintenance, field service or industrial tech experience on equipment.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical systems.
• Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic tools.
• BS, AS or tech certifications in electronics/engineering preferred.
• Strong professional communication and customer-facing skills.
• Willing to travel 3–4 days per week, domestically; international trips occasional.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair equipment at customer sites.
• Diagnose issues across hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical systems.
• Provide hands-on training to customer personnel.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and be primary contact for ongoing service needs.
• Identify upsell opportunities for service agreements, calibration plans, and preventive maintenance.
• Relay field observations to internal teams for product/service improvements.
• Assist with in-house assembly and equipment testing during non-travel periods.
