Job summary

Freenome is seeking an Automation Service Engineer I to support Laboratory Equipment Lifecycle Management, onboarding/offboarding, IQ/OQ/PQ, calibration, and maintenance on large automated systems used in cancer diagnostics.

You will report to the Supervisor, Equipment, Asset Management & Operations Support and work with cross‑functional teams to ensure instrument reliability, regulatory compliance, and high uptime. This role starts on-site and may involve on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in engineering or scientific discipline required.
• 0–3 years service engineering or instrumentation experience.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and vendors.
• Excellent communication for cross-functional work.
• On-call and shift flexibility as needed.
• Experience with GMP/regulated environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Onboard and offboard equipment, label assets, and manage CMMS updates.
• Assist with installations, qualifications, and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate activities between internal and external customers.
• Develop/update SOPs, WIs, forms, and service bulletins.
• Support instrument uptime and maintain QA documentation.
