Bila Solar, an Indianapolis-based solar module manufacturer, seeks an Equipment Engineer on 1st shift to improve reliability, performance, safety, and lifecycle management of our automated production equipment.

You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control systems; lead root-cause analyses; and implement preventive and predictive maintenance, upgrades, and commissioning to reduce downtime and boost OEE across the line.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics or related field.
• 2+ years in equipment, controls, automation, or reliability engineering preferred.
• Experience in highly automated, high-volume manufacturing.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, robotics, vision systems, servos, sensors, and industrial networks.

Responsabilités

• Support the safe, reliable operation of automated solar manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, robotics, and vision issues.
• Analyze downtime and OEE losses; implement corrective actions.
• Lead root-cause analysis using structured problem solving.
• Develop and improve preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance strategies.
• Coordinate with Maintenance Technicians on troubleshooting and standards.
• Support equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, and ramp-up.
• Prepare technical reports, downtime analyses, and performance recommendations.
