Job summary

Lilly seeks an Associate Director – Engineering (Automation) to lead the Process Control Engineering team at a new Houston, TX GMP site startup. You will drive automation strategy, ensure compliant control systems, and collaborate across functions to deliver reliable manufacturing operations.

Role emphasizes leadership, project delivery, and regulatory interaction as the site scales to full GMP production with a strong safety and quality culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum B.S. in Engineering, chemical preferred.
• 5+ years in Process Control and Automation Engineering.
• 3+ years of leadership experience.
• Experience with automation platforms such as Rockwell and DeltaV.

Responsibilities

• Attract, hire, and onboard the Process Control Engineering team.
• Build the organization with the necessary capability, capacity, and culture to operate this facility to high standards.
• Develop and implement the Process Control Engineering Business Plan and SOPs.
• Plan and manage operating expenses, capital, and headcount targets.
• Supervise and coach the team, including performance reviews and development plans.
• Review and approve automation deviations, change controls, and SOPs.
• Interact with regulators and customers on business issues and audits.
• Network globally to share best practices and ensure harmonization.
