Job summary

Lilly is constructing an advanced manufacturing facility for API production in Houston, TX. The Associate Director – Engineering (Automation) will supervise process control engineers and technicians, ensuring reliable, compliant control systems for GMP manufacturing and startup activities.

The role leads startup and post‑startup work, partners with GPACE and site teams, and drives safety, quality, and operational excellence while building a high‑performing organization.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering; Chemical Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years in Process Control and Automation Engineering (API manufacturing preferred).
• 3+ years of leadership experience.
• Experience with Rockwell Automation and Emerson DeltaV.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Process Control Engineering team during startup and startup phases.
• Collaborate with project team on design decisions, commissioning strategies, and automation deliverables.
• Develop and implement the Process Control Engineering Business Plan.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety (PSM) and regulatory requirements.
