Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies is seeking a development-oriented professional to blend outside sales with technical application engineering. You will support the sales team by understanding customer needs, solving automation challenges, and specifying automation solutions from Gibson Engineering's product portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or higher, or 3–5 years in technical sales/engineering support.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to present technically.
• Familiarity with industrial control systems is a plus.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings; CAD knowledge a plus.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Generate target customer lists via market and industry research.
• Plan and execute customer interactions, including sales calls and presentations.
• Perform feasibility studies and product demonstrations (hardware/software).
• Apply Gibson Engineering's technology to solve customer problems and build demos.
• Configure, program, and debug automation equipment for demos or support.
• Collaborate with sales engineers to define scope and quotations.
• Provide pre- and post-sales technical support and troubleshoot.
• Educate customers on products and solutions.
• Support territory/account management by documenting CRM activities.
• Pursue ongoing training to learn automation tech.
• Communicate project status effectively with customers and management.
