Job summary

DSJ Global is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to own automation and control systems at a fast-paced manufacturing site in the United States. You will collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality to troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, and improve equipment reliability while ensuring compliance with cGMP and ISO standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
4-6 years of professional experience in industrial automation and controls in manufacturing.
Hands-on experience programming/maintaining PLC platforms (Rockwell CompactLogix, MicroLogix) and HMI development.
Experience commissioning, troubleshooting, and lifecycle support for automation systems.
Familiarity with cGMP and ISO standards and manufacturing safety practices.
Strong communication and teamwork across Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Quality.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot automation and control systems; perform root cause investigations and implement solutions.
Drive reliability improvements and document/validate corrective actions.
Establish preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance strategies.
Plan automation upgrades across equipment; work with PLCs, HMIs, robotics, safety systems.
Develop automation architecture focused on reliability, safety, and maintainability.
Coordinate with Project Engineering during commissioning and startup.
Prepare and maintain automation docs, schematics, SOPs, change controls; support audits.
Provide guidance and training to Operations and Maintenance teams.
