Job summary

IDEX Corporation is seeking an Automation Engineer in Denver, CO to develop, integrate, and sustain PLC-based automation systems and PCBA-driven hardware. You will collaborate with product engineers and contractors to advance electromechanical testing and data acquisition.

The role requires a BS in engineering or CS and 2+ years in PCBA-based control systems; preference for motor control and 3D CAD experience. This is an on-site position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

BS degree in Electrical/Computer/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
2+ years of experience with PCBA-based control systems (hardware and embedded software).
Experience with PLC/HMI systems and motor/motion control is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Lead or contribute to automation or controls projects, including accelerated testing for new products.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and support existing PLC-based automation systems.
Collaborate with product engineers, PMs and contractors to design PCBA-controlled systems with closed-loop control.
Manage third-party contractors for hardware development, including SOWs and testing.
Generate and maintain technical documentation (schematics, BOMs, process diagrams) per standards.
Research and evaluate new technologies for product innovation and improvement.
Conduct benchmark, life, laboratory, and field testing of products.
Capture VOC feedback from Product Managers and translate into design changes.
Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements; perform root-cause analyses.
