Job summary

C&W Services is seeking an Automation Engineer to support the site maintenance team, ensuring performance and efficiency of material handling control systems. You will troubleshoot and maintain conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, labeling, scales, and HMIs, collaborating with operations and maintenance to implement robust solutions.

Qualifications

3+ years of cumulative work experience in programming/commissioning HMIs, PLCs, and VFDs.
Experience with SCADA systems and KPIs.
Ability to interpret and modify mechanical and electrical drawings.
Experience supporting conveyors and sortation systems.
Familiarity with equipment control components (relays, motor starters, VFDs, HMIs).
High school diploma or equivalent; positive problem-solving attitude.

Responsibilities

Promote a safe working environment by following safety procedures.
Provide guidance on maintaining material handling control systems and electrical distributions.
Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems (PLC/PC, Rockwell).
Serve as first-level escalation for automation issues and coordinate with vendors when needed.
Apply expertise to maximize building utilization of systems and improve reliability.
Coordinate with operations leadership, vendors, and parts suppliers for new technology installations.
Communicate timelines and impacts clearly to leadership and maintenance teams.
