SUMMARY - The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Process Automation Engineer III who will join our project services group and participate in all technical aspects, including project engineering, implementation of new product technologies and customer site support.

This position is dedicated to designing, developing, documenting, testing and aiding in the implementation of PLC and operator interface platforms for automated control systems. The candidate will execute project activities with team members to quote, execute and implement control systems at customer sites across various industries.

This position includes 4 primary functions:

1. Contribute to the development of control system architectures
2. Develop PLC control software from function system descriptions
3. Develop operator interface platforms (HMI, SCADA) from functional system descriptions
4. Deploy to customer sites to execute system startup and commissioning with team members

RESPONSIBILITIES - What You’ll Do

1. Develop and/or optimize PLC software for a wide variety of systems
2. Develop and/or optimize local operator interface platforms
3. Collaborate with team lead during system commissioning
4. Support PLC/SCADA software libraries
5. Analyze P&IDs and electrical schematics to facilitate control system development
6. Effectively plan and manage daily tasks with time critical awareness
7. Prepare project status reports and summaries as necessary or required
8. Travel: (e.g.) 20% travel within the Greater Boston area
9. Cooperate with others to uphold Stellix’s Total Customer Commitment and focus on Quality

QUALIFICATIONS - What You’ll Bring

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent
2. Experience with the implementation of PLC control code
3. Experience with the implementation of operator interface systems
4. Experience programming/configuring VFDs
5. Experience with configuring distributed system networks
6. Ability to get along well with others
7. Appropriate and professional demeanor and appearance

Preferred qualifications:

1. 5+ years high-level experience with the implementation of the PLC code development
2. 2-3 years high-level experience with the implementation of operator interface platforms
3. Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA systems
4. Microsoft Office
5. Knowledge of personal computer (PC) hardware, software and application programs
6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate effectively with customers, supervisors and co-workers
7. Ability to work independently with general directions
8. Ability to manage additional tasks as position evolves
