Job summary

Prime Controls, L.P. is seeking an Automation Specialist I in Lewisville, TX to support system integration projects. You will identify components for PLC, network, computer and software aspects; program PLCs and HMIs; test functionality and troubleshoot issues during start-up.

You will work with engineers, customers and vendors; develop documentation and user manuals; and train customers on operation of automation systems at customer sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics and documentation.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Read electrical drawings and control diagrams; bill of materials and I/O lists.
• Develop and modify PLC programs using ladder logic and related languages.
• Configure and develop HMI applications for operators.
• Assist with configuring networks, controllers, instrumentation and automation components.
• Develop and execute hardware/software test plans; support startup and field testing.
