Job summary

Prime Controls, L.P. in Texas is seeking a Controls Engineer I to support system integration projects, program PLCs/HMIs, test logic, and assist with documentation and start-up at customer sites.

The role emphasizes reading electrical diagrams, developing BOMs, configuring industrial networks, and collaborating with engineers and vendors to deliver robust automation solutions for a nationwide client base. Travel to customer sites will be required, and you will contribute to commissioning,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or technical equivalent in electrical or automation engineering.
• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in automation environments.
• Effective communication and collaboration with technical teams and customers.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical drawings, control diagrams, specifications, and other technical documentation.
• Assist with developing bills of materials (BOMs), I/O lists, and system documentation.
• Develop and modify PLC programs using ladder logic and related languages.
• Develop and configure HMI applications.
• Assist with configuring networks, controllers, instrumentation, and automation components.
• Develop and execute hardware/software test plans and assist during start-up and commissioning.
• Provide training and support to customers on completed automation systems.
