CDM Smith is looking for an Automation (Instrumentation & Controls) Engineer to join our Irvine, CA office in 2027. You'll be working with a dynamic team of industry leading engineers on a diverse portfolio of public, federal, and industrial projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with 0 years travel may be required.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• The frequency of travel is contingent on duties and workload.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision, creates basic instrumentation, controls and related systems designs using 3D and 4D drafting programs.
• Reviews simple component level shop drawings.
• Creates basic human-machine interface (HMI) designs, programmable logic controllers (PLC), reports, etc.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Assists with testing and startup of instrumentation, controls and related systems.
