C&W Services in Akron, Ohio is seeking an Automation Engineer Apprentice to learn troubleshooting and maintenance of material handling equipment, including conveyors, sensors, and control cabinets. You will work with journey workers to gain hands-on experience in high-automation environments.

The program emphasizes safety, preventative maintenance, and on-the-job learning, with mentorship across complex manufacturing systems to develop skilled automation technicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year MRT experience in RME/Mechatronics or robotics.
• Willingness to commute to site and participate in training.
• Commit to 12-week training and 2-year onsite apprenticeship.
• Basic math knowledge and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventative/corrective maintenance and basic troubleshooting of robotics and work cells.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems on MHE components.
• Maintain motors, sensors, relays, and PLC-related devices.
• Assist with basic electronics and PLC troubleshooting.
• Work safely, lift up to 49 lbs, and follow shift requirements.
