Job summary

Itau US is seeking an experienced enterprise automation leader to design, implement, and continuously improve automation solutions that scale across the organization. The role requires strong software engineering expertise, deep AWS cloud experience, and a track record of driving automation strategy with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate will mentor engineers, define architecture standards, and oversee governance, security, and production support in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, automation development, or related technology roles.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as .NET (C#), Java, or Python.
  • Extensive experience designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
  • Experience with AWS services including EC2, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, CloudFormation/CDK.
  • Deep understanding of microservices, event-driven architectures, and API-based integrations.
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, and AWS CodePipeline.
  • Experience with monitoring, observability, logging, and production support in cloud environments.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, ECS, EKS, Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of SSDLC and cloud security principles.

Responsibilities

Job description

Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise automation solutions that enhance operational efficiency, scalability, and business transformation.

The ideal candidate will possess strong software engineering expertise, deep cloud experience (particularly AWS), and a proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, influence stakeholders, and drive automation strategy across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-scale automation solutions to optimize business processes and reduce operational risk.
  • Partner with business leaders, technology teams, and operations stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Define automation architecture standards, engineering best practices, and governance frameworks to ensure reliability, security, and maintainability.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, promoting software engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Drive the adoption of cloud-native technologies, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with workflow automation platforms, Jira automation, BPM tools, or low-code/no-code technologies such as OutSystems.
  • AWS, Azure, or cloud-related professional certifications.
  • Experience with AI-enabled automation, intelligent workflow solutions, or Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and governance methodologies.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and third-party technology solutions.
