Job summary

Cindavi is seeking a Process Automation Engineer to join the Project Engineering Group in Batesville, Arkansas. You will design, implement, and start up automation solutions for batch and continuous processes within a complex specialty chemical manufacturing operation.

You will work on modernizing controls, including ABB 800xA/800M, while supporting legacy DCS and vendor systems. Collaboration with process engineering, operations, and maintenance teams is essential for reliable plant-wide

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering preferred.
• Experience or strong aptitude in process controls, automation, systems integration, or controls programming.
• Strong PC literacy and comfort with Windows environments, servers, domains, networking, and OT.
• Practical understanding of controllers, I/O, instrumentation, and fieldbus technologies.
• Experience in chemical, petroleum, or other continuous or batch manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, integrate, test, and start up automation solutions for batch and continuous processes.
• Support change orders, upgrades, and improvement projects across PLC, DCS, HMI, and plant-network environments.
• Program and troubleshoot systems using ladder logic, structured text, function blocks, and batch-sequencing tools.
• Help advance ABB 800xA and 800M modernization while supporting Allen-Bradley, legacy DCS, and vendor systems.
• Partner with process engineering, project engineering, operations, electrical maintenance, and instrumentation teams to solve plant-wide problems.
• Diagnose root causes, improve reliability and capacity, develop procedures, and contribute to equipment and process design decisions.
• Participate in occasional after-hours support when critical plant issues arise.
