Job summary

Cindavi in Batesville, Arkansas is seeking a driven Process Automation Engineer to join our Project Engineering Group. You will design, implement, and startup automation solutions for batch and continuous processes, helping modernize our plant.

You will work across ABB 800xA/800M migrations, Allen-Bradley, legacy DCS, and vendor systems while collaborating with process engineering, operations, electrical maintenance, and instrumentation teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering preferred.
• Experience or aptitude in process controls, automation, or systems integration.
• Strong PC literacy; comfortable with Windows, servers, domains, networking, and OT.
• Understanding of controllers, I/O, instrumentation, and fieldbus technologies.
• Experience in chemical or continuous/batch manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and start up automation solutions for batch and continuous processes.
• Support change orders, upgrades, and improvement projects across PLC, DCS, HMI, and networks.
• Program and troubleshoot systems using ladder logic, structured text, function blocks, and batch sequencing.
• Advance ABB 800xA/800M modernization while supporting legacy systems and Allen-Bradley.
• Collaborate with process engineering, project engineering, operations, maintenance, and instrumentation teams to solve plant-wide problems.
• Diagnose root causes, improve reliability and capacity, and contribute to design decisions.
• Occasional after-hours support for critical plant issues.

Position Summary

We are looking for a driven Process Automation Engineer to join our Project Engineering Group in Batesville, Arkansas.

We are hiring a Process Controls / Automation Engineer to help support and modernize a complex specialty chemical manufacturing operation. This is a high-impact opportunity to work across legacy and next-generation technologies, including an active migration to ABB 800M controls. You will learn how the entire plant operates, collaborate with experienced technical leaders, and grow into a trusted resource for automation, troubleshooting, and engineering decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, integrate, test, and start up automation solutions for batch and continuous processes.
• Support change orders, upgrades, and improvement projects across PLC, DCS, HMI, and plant-network environments.
• Program and troubleshoot systems using ladder logic, structured text, function blocks, and batch-sequencing tools.
• Help advance our ABB 800xA and 800M modernization work while supporting Allen-Bradley, legacy DCS, and vendor systems.
• Partner with process engineering, project engineering, operations, electrical maintenance, and instrumentation teams to solve plant-wide problems.

• Participate in occasional after-hours support when critical plant issues arise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering is preferred, but strong technologists, technicians, and systems integrators are encouraged to apply.
• Experience or strong demonstrated aptitude in process controls, automation, systems integration, or controls programming.
• Strong PC literacy and comfort with Windows environments, servers, domains, networking, and operational technology.
• A practical understanding of controllers, I/O, instrumentation, and fieldbus technologies.
• Experience in chemical, petroleum, or another continuous or batch manufacturing environment is preferred.
