Job summary

Janicki Industries in Sedro Woolley, Washington, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to own electrical design, power distribution, and control systems for multi-million-dollar custom machines and tooling projects on the Automation team. This hands-on role covers the full lifecycle from design to commissioning on aerospace programs.

You will mentor junior engineers, lead UL508A panels, create schematics and BOMs in ePlan, and collaborate with mechanical, software, and operations teams to deliver

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of automation, robotics, or custom machine design experience.
• Proficiency with electrical design software (ePlan P8 or alternatives).
• Experience with multi-axis servo and motion control systems.
• Leadership on capital equipment projects in the $5M-$10M range.
• US citizenship or permanent resident as per ITAR/EAR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design of industrial control panels (UL508A) and power distribution.
• Create electrical schematics, panel layouts, BOMs, and documentation in ePlan.
• Design multi-axis servo systems and motion control architectures.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software/controls, machinists, and assembly teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive best practices across the team.
• Support build, FAT, and installation/commissioning phases.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and risk assessments.
• Identify automation opportunities within software processes.
