Janicki Industries seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and deliver advanced machines and automated manufacturing systems on-site in Sedro‑Woolley, WA. This is a hands-on role requiring collaboration with machinists, controls engineers, and project stakeholders.

The position involves leading design activities for large-scale machine tools and robotics, with opportunities to contribute from concept to implementation. A strong CAD background and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• 2+ years of professional experience engineering large systems.
• Experience with NX, CATIA, or equivalent CAD software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
• Team-oriented with collaboration across technicians, millwrights, machinists, engineers, and managers.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Concept, design, and develop complex mechanical systems.
• Use 3D CAD to model mechanical parts and assemblies.
• Produce drawings, specifications, and other documentation.
• Perform analysis and calculations to size systems.
• Lead projects or assist in project management, including cost and schedule estimates and vendor coordination.
• Assist in assembly, installation, and commissioning of machines.
• Support existing machines with hands-on troubleshooting and improvement projects.
